This almond chocco smoothie is delicious and bursting with healthy ingredients. It contains a lovely combination of almonds, dates, raw cacao, vanilla powder and coconut water and it is incredibly filling. Dairy-free, yet full of calcium, it tastes lovely and creamy.
It is the perfect answer to those trying to keep milk products out of their lives AND want to enjoy a plant-based style milkshake. Great for those pesky chocolate cravings and a healthy guilt-free sweet treat option for your children. You can heat it up and serve it as a very decadent hot chocolate too.
The coconut water is packed with, iron, manganese, magnesium, potassium and zinc as well as B vitamins. The dates contain essential minerals such as calcium, iron, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, magnesium and zinc. They also contain vitamins including thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, folate, vitamin A and vitamin K.
- 50 grams Almonds Blanched (without the brown skin)
- 4 Dates (pitted) Preferably Medjool
- 200 millilitres Coconut water
- 2 teaspoons Raw cacao powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla powder We love Ndali
- Soak the almonds and the dates in water in the fridge for 2-3 hours until soft. Discard the water.
- Blend all the ingredients together in a high speed blender such as a Nutribullet, Vitamix or even a stick blender until very smooth.
